The Dauntless, a 50 foot French crabber, abandoned in Cornwall after transporting French refugees to England in 1941. It is allegedly based on a real boat.
After the summer of 1945 she is adopted by David Maitland (Captain), Bob Costley (Mate), Alex Simpson (Navigator), Bruce Cox (Engineer & cook) and Tim Baron (Bosun).
They are assisted in their adventures by the retired Captain Blake.
